Don’t let “Oceanside” get away…

Before summer memories of beach trips and cookouts fade, I wanted to revisit the 2018 color of the year from Sherwin Williams – “Oceanside.” 2018 has flown by and I haven’t had a chance to really explore the rich depth of this jewel tone. To me, it’s not a “beach” color at all. It’s a dramatic shade that blends with nearly every design. SW describes it as a “collision of blue and green” and I would agree. Yet, there’s a complexity, familiarity and formality to it with just a bit of whimsy, too!

I admit to you that I painted my living room feature wall this color when I bought my Philly condo in 2010. I was either really ahead of my time, crazy or just reflecting the universality and versatility of this color, that by the way, goes with design elements from mid-century to Mediterranean and traditional to contemporary.

Pictures are worth 1000s of words. To illustrate “Oceanside,” I have chosen some of my favorite design elements to share with you. Feel free to use it in your design choices even if it’s not 2018! I know I will. Happy browsing…
