Trends from Maison & Objet

Maison & Objet, the International trade fair "dedicated to lifestyle fashions and trends, is the premier tradeshow to see the latest trends and artisans in the homewares industry. personal space scoured social media, blogs, and chatter to determine the upcoming home trends for Spring and the hottest new color combinations.

We saw quite a few jungle-inspired textiles, shapes, and accessories. The animals aren't the stale one-dimensional images of the past, but convey energy and movement. Images of cheetahs and tigers are shown in mid-roar, mouth open to convey strength and intensity.

Shell shapes have been present for the past few seasons with the growing exciting of Hollywood Regency and Art Deco. Both feminine and strong, the shell-shaped furniture is both romantic and strong. The coloring shwn is soft, many times velvet, in muted jewel tones and pastels.

Pretty Bugs

Gilded dragonflies, preserved butterflies, and jade ants scattered decorative accessories throughout the halls. Hyper-realistic but pretty, bugs add a sense of nature and strength to furniture and rooms.

The tradeshow takes place again in September, where personal space team will be attending in person to bring back Europe's view of what's next in homewares. M&O's instagram, facebook, and pinterest are incredible sources of inspiration if you can't make it to the event.
